Welcome Students, Parents, and Visitors!

It is always exciting to start a new school year and even more exciting for me as I get to know the Mahanoy Area School District. 

Teachers and staff members at Mahanoy Area Elementary School provide opportunities for your child to learn and grow in a positive environment.  For some of our students, school is a brand new experience and for older students school is a chance to renew friendships after the summer break.  For all of our students, we are their home away from home for the school year and I look forward to getting to know the Mahanoy Area family.

Your child will learn best when school and home work together.  Please remember to make school an important part of your conversations with your child every day.  If your son/daughter is reluctant to share, ask them about their favorite part of the day or to tell you specifically what they are reading about.  You can help your child be successful by taking an active interest in their school day!  After all, you were your child’s first and most important teacher before they ever entered school.  Stay involved in his/her education by communicating with your child’s “other” teachers.
